Modern House with Traditional & Local Materials
Overview
A private residence in Unaizah pairing clean white volumes with a rough-textured local stone cladding, bridging a modern architectural language with the memory of traditional stone construction in Al-Qassim.
Concept
Raw local stone is used in its natural, largely unpolished state, so it remains present as an authentic heritage material within an otherwise contemporary architectural volume.
Design Approach
Narrow vertical windows and limited openings on the stone-clad façades reduce heat gain, with heavy timber doors echoing the detailing of traditional entrances.
